How did you get into your line of work?

I was a technician at Apple and did support for a while as a specialist there. Starting my freelance career a year ago showed me that I had the technical aptitude and the guts to go after something filled with a lot of unknowns. It’s akin to a startup!

What do you think it takes to be successful at Calendly?

You need grit and humility. You’ve got to be willing to work hard and do it humbly without the need for recognition. Go the extra mile for your colleagues, customers and brand. It also takes leadership skills because you can’t do it all alone, so you have to foster others to become experts and leaders at Calendly.

What advice would you give to someone applying to a job in your department?

Be yourself! If it’s meant to be, it will be!

Who is someone that inspires you?

The list is long, but my family tops it. My mom is super creative and has such perseverance! My dad is analytical and always trying new things, no matter what. Lastly, My wife pushes me constantly to be better in all areas of my life and to take every chance to step outside my comfort zone.

Do you have any passions outside of work?

I enjoy the full breadth of video production and I support Hispanic Organization Promoting Education (HoPe), which increases the graduation rate of Hispanic high school students in GA through leadership, education and community service. I’ve been with them since 2013! GALEO (Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials), which promotes civic engagement in the Latino community is also great!

What’s your favorite Atlanta neighborhood?

Midtown, near Georgia Tech.

What are 3 of your favorite things?

I love film, music and all things space/universe.

What’s your favorite word?

I’ve always loved “Triumvirate!”

What’s your favorite joke?

What do you call cheese that’s not yours? Nacho Cheese! [Editor’s Note: That’s the cheesiest joke I’ve ever heard!]

What are you most proud of with regards to your career?

I enjoy being able to make our customers happy through a digital medium and inspire my coworkers to be better with motivational messages.
